Mixtape is an organization founded and run by Linda Stupart & Craig Groenewald, which functions to facilitate discussion, collaboration and production amongst South African cultural producers from all of the diverse factions of the broader South African arts community. We are dedicated to visual art, performance, music and any form of cultural production that occurs outside of conventional gallery spaces, allowing for the increased accessibility of contemporary arts in South Africa and working towards building an arts-aware public while broadening the practice of the emergent and constantly developing South African artistic community.

Our key mandates are collaboration, multidisciplinarity and meaningful community engagement - where we break away from the traditionally patronising models of community arts projects towards a contemporary sharing of skills, resources and ideas.

This blog run is (loosely) by Linda Stupart as a manifestation of Mixtape’s projects, but also as a space for anyone who wants to be involved in the project to post whatever they want to share: Tell us what they’re making, thinking, doing or, even, feeling.
