MoCA and Studio Two Double Six Six

Tuesday, June 19, 2007

Barend de Wet's Museum of Contemporary Art is hosting a residency swop with Studio Two Double Six Six. Situated on the banks of the scenic Bitou Rivier on the east coast- it's the blue house off the R340. Facilities include studio, beer, video cameras, DSTV (currently showing Anacondas), access to the internet and Tassies-Cathembas. Eddie Yang, his mentor Sebastian Charilaou, Ronan Coyle and Christian Nerf are in residency. Thus far, they've observed that other than unfrozen ice everything is OK. The Studio Two Double Six Six artists are dealing with phase 2 of the No Problem in Africa project . De Wet is currently working on his submission for the much-anticipated Hell Yeah show. Curator Doug Gimberg retorts: "Sometimes good people do bad things".
