More on Venice
Monday, May 21, 2007
There's more interesting commentary on the Venice Biennale's Africa Pavillion, specifically on the Sindika Dokolo collection at ArtNet, the scandal seems to be continuing, with more news and a response from Sindika Dokolo himself, which sheds a different light on the matter. Thanks to ArtNet too for publishing ArtHeat's own contribution to the breaking news. More stuff can be read in this quarter's Art South Africa, A stink overwhelms Venice, and some other stuff, Dirty Laundry, only available in the print edition.

Congrats.
You are SA's own Walter Robinson.
I wish you well on your career.
The basis of the "scandal" has been written by a crapy DRC online newspaper "La Conscience" - in a near wartime situation… sponsored by Bemba activists (opposed to Kabila in the first democratic election in DRC).
Other sources of informations should also be considered :

what's eating dickface? something with spiky teeth?
i see the list of African artists in dokolo's collection includes ANDY WARHOL. Nice. We are very postcolonial.
