Michaelis Gallery Competition
Thursday, April 19, 2007
Readers of ArtHeat are cordially invited to submit names for the hitherto unnamed space above the Michaelis Gallery which forms part of "Michaelis Galleries" including the Photographic Gallery and, from time to time, Hiddingh Hall. The Gallery Committee at Michaelis will consider these suggestions. The winning suggestion will win a full set of all copies of the staff journal Artworks in Progress that are currently in print (Volume 1 from 1989 has already completely sold out.) The committee's decision in this competition will be final and they reserve the right to make no award or to choose an alternative name. Readers may make their suggestions by commenting below (and including a contact e-mail in case they win) or by e-mailing their suggestions to: andrewlamprecht(at)gmail.com. In the case of an anonymous or uncontactable winner the copies of Artworks in Progress will be donated to the Artheat Library for the benefit of all. Closing date for suggestions: 2 May 2007. The name of this new gallery will live on for millenia in the annals of art history, much like the name of that guy in the recent movie 300.

Can't I Have It As A Studio Instead Please?
ceci n'est pas un galerie
...have i got this right, you win something you don't really want (which is produced by minds so jaded they can't even give them away) and then they "reserve the right to make no award or to choose an alternative name..." in other words you won't win it anyway because it's not actually going to happen....were these people in charge of trans/X/Cape 07 by any chance?
works in progress is amazing. I would rather win it than a free weekend in Pollsmoor.
