People in Europe still live as if they are in the centre, as if the Lpndon - Berlin - New York axis still existed. Within five years that will have changed (actually, if you travel around, it is obvious that it has already shifted) but people will eventually realise that it has shifted....
So, where do you reckon it will shift to? Have you actually seen the 'artworld' in Europe? For every gallery in cape town, there are about 30 in any major city in Europe, and the same goes for artists unfortunately. It doesn't help complaining about the way 'people in europe live' but what you do to initiate a shift, so stop moaning and make some work worth looking at.
the SMAK is one of the top museums in Europe. its was started in 90s with Jan Hoet as the director, who was the director of documenta IX if you might recall
