I have to apologise for being away for so long. I went to China. But on my way I managed stopped off in Jo'burg en route, and learnt some valuable information, some of which I am about to share. As ArtHeat wishes to inform its loyal subjects about the local and international art crap, we also attempt to serve as a safety net for the not-yet-so-experienced-art-traveler.

I stopped off at Trasi Hennen's studio. If I could give any advice for the future, this would be it: Do not fall asleep. I was reminded of some Freddy Kruger episodes. Trasi has developed a very sufficient system of waking up the art world, quite literally. Upon receding into a beautiful slumber, Hennen gets fairly annoyed and will at any given moment (public or private) insert, as she likes to call it, the "Evil Finger", in order to wake up her tragically still asleep subjects. The orifice of choice being the anus. It takes her subjects months to admit to the violation and evidently leads to severe post-traumatic stress syndrome. Did anyone notice how quickly Matthew Hindley became a painter. I also saw this procedure administered to a fairly innocent up-and-coming young artist in a public bar. Let's hope that Trasi can do the same to the Cape Bienalle. (oops, was that a mistake?)

Hennen's finger has become slightly discoloured through years of experience.
