Maybe it's a bit out of ArtHeat's scope, but I hate this man so much that I think I'll post it anyway. Thomas Kinkade, painter of light, spreader of kitsch, most collected artist in the US and multi-millionaire is being probed by the FBI. Allegedly, he induced investors to open galleries using his Christian faith as a selling point, then ruined them financially for his own gain. Asshole. Read it in the LA Times.

No No this is a wonderful posting. But is it for real, Sloon? I can just see this painting up on a wall somewhere in New York, the towers burning in the background while somewhere not too far away a first year art student pores over a map of the USA , plotting out the SMILEY FACE anthrax conceptual art work.
Heathens! Unbelievers! May you all burn in hell for doubting the g-dliness of the living saint Thomas K. G-d will protect him, just you watch.
So what do we think about Trechikoff? We all know the case AGAINST him. But where is the argument for him? What do we owe him? Seriously, nothing has been so profoundly & conclusively indicative of the true spirit and intelligence of those running our public art museum institutions as their inabilty to offer the guy some kind of show in his lifetime in 'their ' (Yeah, cheap irony - you all know I mean "our") galleries. Why? For G-ds sake look around you - we've been livig in a pop culture that sponged relentlessly off him for the past fifty years, as relentlessly as he, effortlessly, stole his audience's hearts ...
Fucken Idiot is gone now. They could have given him a BIG THRILL.
He's also, incidentally, the first artist to be listed on the stock exchange. What a winner. He's like Murikami, but sincere - the greatest artist in the world...ever!
Who? Kinkaid or Stretchi?
