Desperately Seeking Conrad

Tuesday, May 23, 2006

Bedecked in scarf and dark glasses, local lady of mystery and purveyor of photographs, Heidi Erdmann of the self-named Contemporary gallery, was recently spotted making and incognito visit to rival gallery 34 Long in Cape Town. Avoiding the inconvenience of actually identifying herself she made a bee-line for "her" artist, Conrad Botes', works. A brief look at Matthew Hindley's painting concluded the whistle-stop visit (perhaps to make a quick call to sell 'em while the paint is still wet Matt?) While we do not have a photograph of Ms Erdmann as she made the visit, the accompanying image, kindly modeled by Hollywood actress Susan Serandon, may give an accurate representation.
